Student’s senior project to benefit Rowan Helping Ministries

Anyone who likes shooting sports and wants to help people in need can participate in a turkey shoot on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Rockwell.

The event, to benefit Rowan Helping Ministries, will be held from 10 a.m .to 4 p.m. at 560 Varnadore Road.

The turkey shoot is being organized by Jonathan Matthews, a senior at Gray Stone Day School, as his senior project.

Each entry will cost $5 and each winner will have a choice of one frozen turkey or ham.

Contestants can choose to compete in shotgun, rifle or bow classes. In addition to the turkey shoot, contestants will have an opportunity to take shots at a high speed radio controlled airplane.
