Benefit planned Friday for friends going through kidney transplant

SALISBURY — The Don Herbert/Tim Jones Kidney Transplant Benefit will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Southeast Middle School gymnasium, 1570 Peeler Road.

In coming weeks, Jones, pastor of Mercy Independent Baptist Church, will be donating a kidney to Herbert, a gospel singer with The Parables of Christ.

The benefit will include a night of gospel singing from Zion’s Hill and The Parables of Christ. Jones also will be giving a message.

All proceeds go toward the upcoming expenses Herbert and Jones will face related to the transplant procedure. Donors are being asked to make checks payable to Mercy Independent Baptist Church Misc. Fund.

If you are unable to attend and would like to mail in a donation, send the check in care of F&M Bank, 2975 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083, or Mercy Independent Baptist Church, 1390 Pump Station Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

For more information, contact Jones at 704-213-0956, or Herbert at 704-938-9222.
