Blotter: Teen charged on marijuana charges, another cited during traffic stop

Police charged a teen with marijuana possession and cited another following a Thursday afternoon traffic stop.

Jhannatan Jaramillo Macedo, 17, of the 1300 block of Klondale Drive, Kannapolis, was charged with driving without a license, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, all of which are misdemeanors. Adan Jesus Macias, 16, of the 5800 block of Wildwood Drive, Salisbury, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Salisbury Police officer ran the license plate of a Honda Accord driven on Knox Street and it alerted that the driver had an expired license.

A report said there were four people in the vehicle, but only two face charges. The driver pulled into a driveway on Knox Street. The officer asked if the group knew the homeowner and they said they did not.

The officer could smell a strong odor of cologne and marijuana coming from the car. He received permission to search the vehicle and located a smoking device on the back seat with black tar inside it. A bag containing 1.9 grams of marijuana was found in the car as well as Juicy rolling papers and a smoking device in the center console.

• Novant Health Rowan Medical Center reported on Thursday someone damaged a fire alarm strobe unit.

•  Michael Wayne Brooker, 27, was charged on Thursday with misdemeanor larceny in the 100 block of East Kerr Street.

• A woman reported on Wednesday that she was the victim of a physical assault in the 1000 block of Bobs Place, Woodleaf.

• A man reported on Wednesday someone broke into his vehicle in the 1600 block of North Main Street, China Grove.

• A man reported on Wednesday items were take from his vehicle at Ketchie and Umberger roads, Mount Ulla,

• A woman reported on Wednesday her vehicle was damaged in the 8100 block of Red Road, Rockwell.

• Brandon Shawn Terry, 22, was charged on Wednesday with felony possession of firearm by felon in the 200 Warren Drive, Mooresville.

• Mark Anthony Goodjohn, 22, was charged on Wednesday with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture schedule IV in the 1200 block of Poplar Glen Drive, Kannapolis.

• Charles Thomas Shoup, 45, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor larceny while at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.

• Candy Leger Little, 32, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor school attendance law violation in the 7900 block of Texas Place, Kannapolis.

• Torrian Daquan Williams, 17, and Timmon Kamar Dudley, 17, were charged with misdemeanor larceny at Nazareth Children’s Home.

• Johnny Wayne Miller, 34, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 100 block of Briarwood Lake Drive.

• Terry Alan Fields, 26, was charged on Wednesday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 3300 block of Rockwell Road.
