In November, Novant Health Rowan Medical Center President Dari Caldwell was named to the Rowan County Chamber board and took over as chairwoman on Thursday.
Caldwell has been president of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center since May 2010, which was prior to the hospital’s name change and merger. Rowan Regional Medical Center merged with Novant Health in January 2008 and underwent the name change in the spring of 2013.
She has worked in healthcare for more than 30 years, holding clinical and leadership positions at facilities around the U.S., including Seton Medical Center, Daly City, CA; Duke University Medical Center, Durham; and White Plains Hospital Center, White Plains, NY.
Caldwell has served as vice president for operations for Cabarrus Family Medicine. While there, Caldwell was responsible for the operations of all Cabarrus Family Medicine services. Prior to her tenure with Cabarrus Family Medicine, she served as vice president and chief operating officer at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast and spent 10 years with the Concord hospital.
Caldwell earned a doctorate of philosophy in health care administration from Columbia Pacific University. She also obtained a master’s of science degree in nursing from Duke University and a nursing bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
