Rowan weather: Happy New Year! Then, rain

And here we are, New Year’s Eve, and it’s cold and you probably had ice to scrape this morning.

But there’s hope. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 46 degrees and calm winds. When you’re out tonight, though, be sure to bundle up. The low will be a very cold 26 degrees. And be sure to celebrate responsibly.

For New Year’s Day, we should have sun again, and a high near 49. Wind from the southwest will blow at only 6 mph in the afternoon. Clouds move in Thursday night, with a low right at the freezing mark.

Expect a 30 percent chance of rain Friday, mainly in the late afternoon. We’ll have clouds most of the day, and a high near 48. The chance of rain goes up to 50 percent Friday night, with a low around 38.

Saturday, blah. We have a 60 percent chance of rain, and a high of 47. Saturday night, we go up to a 70 percent chance of rain, with the temperature staying pretty steady, around 46 degrees.

Sunday, we still have a 50 percent chance of showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 57. Sunday night, no mention of rain, but the low will be 34.

To start the first full week of 2015, Monday will be mostly sunny and 49, with a low of 32. And Tuesday will be mostly sunny again, with a high near 46.
