Haven holds Service of Lessons and Carols

Haven Lutheran Church will celebrate the birth of the Christ child with a Service of Lessons and Carols during its regular service time of 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Rev. Ed Harper will lead worship. The organist and musical director is Danny Key. The church is located at 207 W.t Harrison St. in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood.


Rowan Christian Assembly

Rowan Christian Assembly, 923 N. Salisbury GQ Ave., Salisbury, will have a guest speaker on Sunday. Pastor Brian Whitaker, who has been called to minister to Muslims in the Michigan area, will be speaking on “Living Dead.” The service is at 10:30 a.m. Call 704-279-6676 for more information.

One service at First Presbyterian Salisbury

On the first Sunday after Christmas Day, First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury will celebrate together at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, the only worship service of the day. There will be no children’s or youth Sunday School classes. The Rev. Brian Daoust will be preaching.


Guest speaker at Mt. Zion UCC

CHINA GROVE – During the 11 a.m. service on Sunday at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, Kim Hodges will be the guest speaker. Hodges is serving as a chaplain intern at the UNC Hospital in Durham. Joining her will be Sarah Safrit who will be sharing the children’s message.

New Year’s Eve service at Word of Life

Word of Life Family Worship Center will hold its annual New Year’s Eve service on Wednesday from 7:30 until 10 p.m.  There will be special music, dance and words of encouragement. For additional information call 704-633-2431. Dr. Martha Starks is the host pastor.

Watch Night at Fairview Heights 

Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will host its New Year Eve Watch Night Service on Wednesday at 10 p.m. The Rev. Calvin Miller, presiding Elder of the Winston-Salem District of the AME Zion Churches, will be the speaker.  The Rev. Clarence Marlin is host pastor.


Watch Night at Love Christian Center

EAST SPENCER — Love Christian Center will hold its Watch Night Service Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. The theme will be “Partying on a Promise” with speaker Minister Tiffany Miller of Spencer.
