Police: Thief takes 1,000 gift certificates from local salon, spa

The owner of Salisbury Salon and Spa, Leslie Stopper, contacted Salisbury Police on Wednesday to say someone took 1,000 blank gift certificates from behind a front counter at the business.

She said the gift certificates were inside a box and were last seen on Dec. 12 around 4 p.m. at the salon, located at 210 E. Innes St. The gift certificates had no value written on them and were not signed.

Stopper said she and her husband are the only two people at the salon who can provide an authorized signature on the gift certificates.

Stopper believes the person who took the gift certificates plan to use them during the holidays, which police officials say is most likely the intent.
