The 41st Annual Tree of Hope lighting service was held Monday evening, December 1, at the main courtyard of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Opening remarks were made by Dari Caldwell, NHRMC President and Rick Parker, Director of the NHRMC Foundation.  Chaplain Rev. James Cook spoke briefly on the subject of Hope, and led those gathered in prayer.

“This Little Light of Mine” and “Silent Night” were presented by special musical guest, vocalist and guitarist Mary Gillespie.

The Tree of Hope is a fundraising project of the NHRMC Auxiliary Board of Directors, a governing body elected from the over 200 volunteers at the hospital.  Betsey Edgeworth and Teresa McKinney head the Projects Committee.  Other committee members who supervise the Tree of Hope are Nancy Linn, Bess Johnson, Betsy Rich, Jane Rowland, Gussie Ryan, and Carol Watkins.

Information forms for donations are published in the Post, and are available in the hospital Gift Shop, a great place for your Christmas shopping.  The Gift Shop is managed and operated by Sandy Morrison and manned by volunteer auxiliary members.

You may contribute to the Tree of Hope until December 31.  May your holidays be filled with peace, joy and Hope.
