Fifty State Rally

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Third Creek AME Zion Church will present the 50 State Rally on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 3 p. m. Each member will present facts on a state, prepare a food that is grown in that state, and present a financial contribution. Third Creek is located in on 415 E. Main St. The Rev. Harold L. Jordan is pastor.

 

Knox Chapel UMC

CLEVELAND —   Knox Chapel United Methodist Church, 3520 Amity Hill Road, is hosting an Advent Fair on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. There will be crafts for all ages as well as fellowship and free hot dogs, drinks and fixings.

 

Emmanuel Baptist

Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2300 Bringle Ferry Road,  welcomes Tommy Thomas back at the 11 a.m. service. There will be special music by the choir under the direction of Crystal Cornelison.

Sunday at 6 p.m. is the Fifth Sunday Night Singing with musical guests and EBC favorites, The Pioneers. There will be a love offering for our musical guests.

 

Pine Ridge Baptist Church 

CHINA GROVE — On Wednesday Dec. 3 the service schedule has been changed at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 880 Old Linn Road. Please meet in the fellowship building at 6:30 instead of 7 p.m. for a stew meal followed by the singing of Christmas music.

Pine Ridge Baptist would like to express its joy and gratitude for the excellent turnout for the Thanksgiving meal. 70 people were served in this first-time effort.

 

Advent Preparations at Mount Zion UCC

CHINA GROVE — During the 11 a.m. service members and friends of Mt. Zion UCC, 1415 S. Main St., will prepare for the Advent Season with the lighting of the Candle of Hope. Second Presbyterian Church

Second Presbyterian Church, next to Salisbury High School, will kick off the Advent season Sunday at 11 a.m. with guest organist Jeremy Krider from State College, Pa. and graduate of Catawba College. As the church begins a new Christian year, the children will light the Hope Candle.

 

Needmore Baptist

WOODLEAF — Needmore Baptist Church, 1620 Mt. Vernon Road, will host the Decorating of the Christmas Tree holiday service on Sunday at 6 p.m.

 

Maupin Ave. AR Presbyterian 

On Sunday Dec. 7 the women of the church will  host their annual Christmas party featuring music by award-winning musician Matthew Weaver. Rowan Christian Assembly

Rowan Christian Assembly, 923 N Salisbury GQ Ave., will be hosting a Spanish service on Sunday at 10:30 am. The Hispanic members of the church family will be conducting the service, and there will be English translation. For details, call 704-279-6676.

 

Movie Event at Oakdale Baptist

SPENCER — The movie, “Heaven Is For Real” will be featured at Oakdale Baptist Church, 200 Charles St.,  on Sunday night at 6 p.m. The movie is the true story of four year old Colton Burpo who, while in surgery, claims he visited Heaven and saw Jesus and other members of his family he had never met in life. The description of the Heaven he saw is consistent with what the Bible teaches about Heaven. This fascinating story will encourage you and cause us to think more about our Heavenly home.
