Rowan weather: Looks like good parade weather next week

Back in the low 30s this morning, we’ll have sunny skies today and a high near 47, with a light north wind. Tonight we get cold again, with a low of 24.

Saturday will be warmer, with a high of 51, but a 30 percent chance of rain moves in Saturday night, with a low of 36.

Sunday looks like it could be a washout, with a 90 percent chance of rain. The high will be around 56, and winds will blow from the east southeast at 5-10 mph. More rain Sunday night, with a low around 54.

Monday’s heat-wave high of 73 comes with partly sunny skies and a 30 percent chance of precipitation. the low will be only 46.

Tuesday, partly sunny and 61, with a low of 36. People at the Southern Rowan Christmas Parade should appreciate that. The parade starts at 3 p.m. in Landis and around 4 in China Grove.

The cooling trend continues Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 54. That’s pretty good weather for the annual Holiday Caravan Parade, which starts at 2 p.m. in Spencer, and 3 p.m. in Salisbury. The low will hit the freezing mark, 32, Wednesday night.
