Elections staff wins my vote

I know the election is over, but I’d like to cast one more vote. It’s a vote of thanks to the hard work of our competent Board of Elections staff under the direction of Nancy Evans. I have witnessed their competence, professionalism, cooperation, and kindness from voter registration through the final vote canvass.

They are to be commended for their diligent work. And, I would suggest some salary increases are appropriate also.

Further, the staff competence raises beyond question the accuracy of our voting process. We can be proud of the work they do to see that democracy works here for us in Rowan County!

Thank you, Nancy and staff!

A Democrat and Christian

This letter is for Catherine Sommers (Nov. 11 letter) and your husband. My mother was a Democrat and she lived to be almost 101 years old and she was a Christian. I am also a Democrat and proud of it, but I vote for the person not the party. But who are you and your husband to say something so stupid as a Democratic is not a Christian? What party was God — Republican or Democrat? Stop judging people and be a Christian yourself.
