Kannapolis officer promoted

Daniel Wallace has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant assigned to Patrol Squad B with the Kannapolis Police Department.

Wallace began his career with Kannapolis Police Department in November 2000.  He has served in several capacities during his employment including Patrol Officer, DARE Officer, school resource officer and sergeant of the community services unit.  In addition to his regular duties, he is a previous member of the Special Response Team and currently the team leader in charge the honor guard.  He also serves as a field training officer.

Prior to his employment with Kannapolis Police, Wallace served in the United States Army for four years.

A 1993 graduate of Rutherfordton–Spindale High School, Wallace holds an advanced law enforcement certificate from the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and has completed 3,372 hours of professional training.  Wallace was the 2008 recipient of the Roger Dale Carter Memorial Service Award.

He is married to Emily Odessa Wallace.  They have three children:  Anna Odessa, Emma Catherine and Luke Matthew.
