Rockwell man charged with selling stolen air conditioning unit for scrap metal

According to warrants, a Rockwell man was arrested for stealing an air conditioning unit and selling it as scrap metal.

Jason David Morris, 45, was charged with felony breaking or entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Morris, who lives in the 700 block of China Grove Highway,  broke into a storage building in the 13500 block of U.S. Highway 52 in Gold Hill and stole a window air conditioning unit valued at $300. He then sold the unit as scrap metal at Holmes Iron and Metal for $38.

Morris was issued a $2,500 bond.
