Blotter: Woman accused of stealing A/C unit punches the homeowner

A Salisbury woman was charged with assaulting a woman who reportedly tried to stop her from stealing a window air conditioning unit.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Brittany Desha Thompson, 26, of the 6300 block of Long Branch Road with misdemeanor simple assault.

A report said the victim tried to stop Thompson, who was trying to go inside the home, from taking the unit. Thompson was accused of pulling the victim by the hair and punching her in the head. Deputies found Thompson hiding behind a house across the street.

Thompson has since been released under a $1,000 secured bond. She is expected in court Nov. 12.

• A man reported Sunday a breaking and entering occurred in the 100 block of Karri Lane.

• A man reported Sunday a break in occurred Sept. 14 in the 100 block of Buccaneer Circle.

• Silviu Gheza Angel, 28, was charged Friday with misdemeanor breaking and entering while at the Rowan County Courthouse.

• Antonio Rashad Alexander, 24, was charged Friday with misdemeanor assault on a female while at the Rowan County Courthouse.

• Denetra Crawford, 23, was charged Friday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 500 block of South Yadkin Avenue, Spencer

• Myron Gilbert Jones, 57, was charged Friday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 12000 block of Old Beatty Ford Road, Rockwell.

• Bryan Anthony Davis, 23, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay an officer at Airport Road and North Main Street, Landis.

• Talisha Hunter, 26, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor aiding and abetting in the 1000 block of Wilcoy Park Drive, Rockwell.

• Trisha Kathleen Bassett, 36, was charged Sunday with felony possession of burglary tools in the 300 block of Happy Lake Road.

• Robin Thomas Wagoner, 55, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor sale without license in the 100 Baptist Church Road Gold Hill.

• Eugenia Dean, 50, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor resist, obstruct, delay an officer (not aggravated) in the 100 block of Iris Lane, Kannapolis.

• Zuleima Perez-Hernandez, 20, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 400 block of West 15th Street.
