A “mini” Relay for Life was held Thursday at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

The nursing home’s residents attended a memorial to honor and remember residents, and family members, who have died from cancer. The memorial included songs and poetry.

After the memorial, residents took a victory lap around the nursing station to celebrate life.

Felicia Charles, coordinator for Rowan County Relay for Life, said, “It’s just mainly a big party because they have so many survivors here that don’t get to come out to Relay; so we’re bringing Relay to them.”
