North Rowan won 8-1 in a CCC tennis match against East Davidson.
Samantha Pritchard, Veronica Leasure, Victoria Scheve, Alexis Rice and Brandy Fox won in singles for the Cavaliers.
Pritchard-Leasure, Scheve-Fox and Rice-Indya Wiggins were the winning doubles teams for North Rowan (7-6, 2-4 CCC).

Prep volleyball
Gray Stone won 3-1 against Salisbury on Friday to stay undefeated.

College volleyball
Catawba’s women lost 3-1 at Mars Hill on Friday night.
Bri Howard had 10 kills for Catawba (3-7, 1-4). Rachel Gallup had nine kills.
Catawba plays at Tusculum on Saturday 2 p.m.

Rowan High School Day
Rowan County High Schools, the local Home School Association, and individuals affiliated with these schools can vie for cash prizes during Catawba College’s Rowan County High School Day Oct. 4.
Catawba’s Rowan County High School Day is sponsored by Wells Fargo.
Administrators, faculty, staff and students from Rowan County High Schools and the local Home School Association can register online at www.catawba.edu/rowanday to attend Catawba’s 1:30 p.m. home football game against Tusculum. Individuals will pay just $5 for each ticket on game day at Shuford Stadium.
The top two groups with the most students, faculty, staff and administrators attending the game will be awarded a $1,000 (1st place) and a $500 (2nd place) cash prize provided by Wells Fargo. These prizes will be donated to the school or association’s scholarship fund.
Rowan County High Schools eligible to participate include Henderson, Carson, East, West, South, North, Salisbury, North Hills Christian, Rockwell Christian, Rowan County Early College and Rowan County Home School Association. Administrators, faculty, staff and students who attend the game will be eligible for individual school drawings in which the chosen winner from each school will receive a $100 Visa gift card, also provided by Wells Fargo.
