Salisbury volleyball won 13-25, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-16 against West Davidson to take over first place in the CCC.
Juliana Anderson led the Hornets with four aces and 12 kills. Mary Seifert had four aces, five kills and 13 assists. Lora Withers had four aces and six assists. Maddie Gentry, Abby Lee and Rebecca Malloy led the defense.
• North Rowan swept Thomasville 25-18, 25-20 and 26-24 on Thursday for a CCC win.
Aliyah Farmer had eight kills. Ashlyn Mills had 14 assists. Demeria Robinson had three aces. Chevy Blaire and Brianna White also played well for the Cavaliers.
• East Rowan won 25-19, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-20 against Concord in SPC action on Thursday. Jordan McCall had 36 assists and six kills. Brittany Small had 14 kills and four aces. Ashton Rogers had 11 kills and seven aces. Avery Wright had four kills and five digs.
• West Rowan won 25-23, 25-16 and 25-22 against South Rowan in SPC volleyball on Thursday. It was the first league win for the Falcons.
Hannah Moseley led the Falcons with eight kills, Diamond Lovell had six kills. Taylor Quinn, Abbey Williams and Ashley Wood had three each. Ashley Wood had 18 assists.
Abbey Williams, Quinn, Parker Williams and Taylor Martin led the defense.

Carson’s boys soccer team won 9-0 against East Rowan on Thursday to stay on top in the SPC.
Colton Correll had a hat trick. Danny Nava, Brandon Flores and Ricky Maldonado had two goals each.
Assisting on goals were Raunel Vasquez, Khalid Myers, Cole Howard, Pedro Perez and Flores.
The game ended at halftime by the mercy rule.
Next for the Cougars is a home game on Sept. 23 against Northwest Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m.
• Second-place Cox Mill won 4-1 against Hickory Ridge on Thursday in SPC action.
• Salisbury finished off a 3-0 week with a 2-1 win against Ledford on Thursday.
It was a long week for the surging Hornets (7-4), who played three away doubleheaders. Landon Goodman scored both goals for Salisbury, with assists from Josh Lynch and Christian Uribe.
Lexington visits Ludwig Stadium for a JV/V double header at 5:30/7 p.m.

Isabella Rusher shot 32 and led Salisbury to a win in a three-team match on Thursday at the Country Club of Salisbury.
Salisbury shot 118 to Mooresville’s 130 and West Davidson’s 136.
Grace Yatawara shot 36 for the Hornets, while Caroline Parrott shot 50. Shelby Holden shot 54.
Mooresville’s Sam Vodry shot 34, Olivia Mast’s 40 led West Davidson.
Davie’s girls won 9-0 against West Rowan on Thursday.
Ryan Shelton, Jennifer Ngo, Tatum Edwards, Emma Etter, Claire Myers and Annie Kinder won in singles for the War Eagles.
Loren Myers-Maci Latham, Brooke Summers-Jordain Taylor and Shelby Nelson-Hannah Etter were doubles winners.
Carson won 31-24 at East Rowan on Thursday.
Owen White rushed for two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. Bailey Rayfield had scoring runs of 8 and 12 yards. Nathan Yow ran for a pair of 2-point conversions. Matt Beaver kicked a PAT.
Brenden Westbrook and Louis Cipres had interceptions. Jay Wilkerson blocked well. Elijan Eddie played well on defense.
Carson (4-0, 2-0 SPC) has won 10 straight SPC games.
For East Rowan, Isaac Baker returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Michael Hess had a receiving TD and scooped up a fumble and scored.
• Martavio Rankin rushed for 110 yards and two TDs as West Rowan beat Northwest Cabarrus 36-16 on Thursday.
Bryant Young was 10-for-12 passing for 148 yards and two TDs. Young also scored two 2-point conversions.
Nick Newton and Cody Haynes caught the TD passes. Kameron Caldwell had a rushing TD. Mykel Berger caught a 2-point conversion pass.
Devin Turner, Miles Poteat and Rodney Howell led the defense. Hunter Brown had an interception.
• South Iredell won 33-14 against Salisbury on Thursday. Tyquan Jones scored both TDs for the Hornets on runs of 4 and 53 yards.
Nimley Davis topped 100 rushing yards, and Jones had 85 yards. Juan Fair had a 2-point conversion.
Kevin Mullinax, Byron Goodlett and Tywun Rivens led Salisbury’s defense.
• North Rowan won 40-30 behind huge rushing games by Xavier Haley (20 carries, 225 yards, two TDs) and Jayden Jones (14 carries, 175 yards, 2 TDs).
Desmond Gray and Jaleel Webster also scored TDs for North Rowan.
Victor Lyles made 12 tackles. Shy’kim Coney picked off a pass.
• South Rowan put up a fight in a 12-6 loss to Concord.
Salisbury won 2-1 against West Davidson. Breya Philpot led the Hornets with 12 kills. Katie Bullock had 5 aces and 11 digs. Dakotah Insley had five aces and 11 assists.
• Hope Evans played well for North Rowan in a 2-0 loss to Thomasville.
Knox defeated West Rowan 6-3 on Thursday.
Singles winners for Knox were Skye Mowery, Rainey Dunham, Laura Bullock, Anna Grace Woolly, and Quinnlan Watson. Winning in doubles for Knox were Dunham-Bullock.
Knox will play Salisbury Academy on Monday.
West Rowan Middle won 30-0 against Corriher-Lipe in 8th-grade football.
Anthony Chance, Payne Stolsworth, Jeffrey Garman and Robert Caldwell scored touchdowns. Caldwell had a 56-yard scoring burst up the middle.
Garman and Tristan Haynes scored two-point conversions. Other leaders for the Bulldogs were Dawson Sheesley, Logan Younce, Ben Bonds, Jacob Perez, Andrew Sharpe, Duane Bowers, Cory Snider and Cameron Graham.

The Livingstone women’s team rolled 25-12,25-14,25-10 against Shaw in CIAA volleyball on Thursday in Raleigh.
The Blue Bears (7-2) got eight kills from Carrie Blunt.
Catawba’s women are ranked 12th nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and are off to a 5-0 start.
Catawba is ranked second in the Southeast Region.
Freshmen Kate Weisner and Becky Frost have combined for 13 goals.
Catawba plays at Carson-Newman on Saturday at 5 p.m.
