Salisbury Police are investigating a shooting that occurred near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Cemetery Street early Tuesday morning. Officials with Novant Health Rowan Medical Center called authorities after the victim showed up at the emergency department.
The victim told police he was walking when a blue mid-sized sedan stopped and the driver demanded the victim’s “stuff”. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m.
The victim said he took off running, heard two-to-three gunshots and realized he’d been shot in the foot. He hobbled and sat down in a nearby yard.
He said called his sister who took him to the hospital. He said there were two people in the car — the driver and a passenger. He provided few other details.
