Authorities charged two Salisbury men with drug possession following a drug investigation and subsequent traffic stop Friday afternoon.
Salisbury Police officers stopped a Ford Econoline van Friday in the 300 block of Faith Road. Officers identified the driver as Keith Douglas Davidson, 21, and Akeem Lamar Blackwell, 24, as a passenger.
Officers searched Davidson and found a .38-caliber revolver hidden in his waistband, $47 in his pocket, 6.8 grams of marijuana in the center console and 10 doses of oxycontin.
Davidson, of the 200 block of Pickler Road, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance schedule II, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Blackwell, of the 1200 block of Park Avenue, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance schedule II and misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana.
Both Blackwell and Davidson have since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center, each under a $5,000 secured bond.
Blackwell was convicted in 2012 of misdemeanor drug possession and was placed on probation. The N.C. Department of Correction records show a number of convictions listed under Keith Davidson including drug possession, larceny, resisting arrest and simple assault.
