Haley Ellen Barrier and Nolan Joseph Stehr were united in marriage Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
The Reverend Gary S. Coble officiated the 3:30 p.m. ceremony, and the reception followed at Morgan Ridge Vineyards.
The bride was escorted by her father and attended by Lisa Ann Hill as maid of honor. Her bridesmaids included Taylor Paige Arey and Whitley Shay Barrier of Salisbury; Katie Shoe Flynn of Lewis Center, Ohio; Jodi Shoe Wood of Calabash; and Whitney Megan Arey of Ghana. Ella Marian Batts of Mt. Ulla served as her junior bridesmaid.
The Groom chose his father, Dr. Mark Joseph Stehr, as his best man. Serving as groomsmen were brother of the groom 2nd Lt. Barrett Baughan Stehr, of Vance AFB, Okla.; stepfather of the groom Jeffrey Mitchell Wagner of Salisbury; brother of the bride Hunter Ray Barrier of Salisbury; Aaron Jay Peacock of Raleigh; and John Christopher Cassidy of Norfolk, Va. 
Attending the bride as flower girls were Brinley Leanne Batts of Mt. Ulla and Mia Jillian Cross of Salisbury. Augustus Lee Spencer of Salisbury was the Ring Bearer; Callen Michael Batts of Mt. Ulla was the Bible Bearer; and Corbin Andrew Cross of Salisbury served as Crucifer. 
Hostesses were Lindsay McCarn Smith of Chapel Hill and Simone Imani Watson of Winston-Salem. Ms. Martha Rae Combs of Raleigh was an honored guest. Ceremony music was provided by organist Peggy Hoffner and soloist Michael Thomas, and Diane Osborne assisted the families as wedding director.
The new Mrs. Stehr wore a beaded, champagne lace ball gown and cathedral veil for the ceremony, and later donned a reception dress fashioned from her mother’s wedding gown. The bride’s aunts decorated the reception venue in a vintage style, accented with lace, doilies, antique glassware and homegrown florals.
The bride is the daughter of Lonnie and Lisa Barrier of Salisbury. She is the granddaughter of Lonzo and Martha S. Arey and Joan H. Barrier, all of Salisbury, and the late Karr Barrier. A 2009 graduate of East Rowan High School, Haley graduated cum laude from Duke University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a second year medical student at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. 
The groom is the son of Dr. Mark Stehr and Lisa and Jeff Wagner of Salisbury. He is the grandson of the late Sally Baker, the late Lonnie Baker, and the late Joseph and Patricia Stehr. A 2008 graduate of East Rowan High School, Nolan graduated from North Carolina State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. Nolan is a Nuclear Engineer at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. 
The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to St. Lucia, and are currently sharing their time between Chapel Hill and Chesapeake, Va.
