A group of citizens from Civic Park Apartments and adjoining neighborhoods in the West End have planned a family event at Civic Park Apartments. The event is today, from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes food, games and music for parents and children. Organizers will give out school supplies appropriate for children age 5 through 18 years.
The Salisbury Police will deliver messages on internet safety. A local rapper, Brian Capa Young, will sing his anti-bullying song. Local churches are supplying food and music.
The Village is a grassroots movement trying to promote community involvement and help children be ready for the new school year.
