This morning’s damp air is just a taste of what’s on our way.
Today we’ll see scattered showers, with thunderstorms possible after 3 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 84. The chance of rain is 30 percent.
Just wait, though, because the chance of showers and thunderstorms amps up to 70 percent tonight, with a low of 68. We have moderate air quality today, then good for Saturday and Sunday. One thing to be thankful for this summer is the lack of bad air quality days. The UV index is 8 today, still very high, despite the clouds.
Saturday could be a washout, with an 80 percent chance of showers and storms. Some of the storms could drop heavy rainfall. The high of 77 will come with increasing winds from the south southeast. One to two inches of rain is possible, so some areas might see flooding.
And if that’s not enough, that 80 percent chance of rain goes into the night, with more heavy downpours and a low around 69.
Sunday’s chance of rain is 60 percent, with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. It will be cloudy and just 75 degrees. Rain chances go down slightly, to 50 percent, on Sunday night, with a low around 66.
Monday, more showers and storms are possible, with a 40 percent chance or rain, and it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 78. Monday night, the chance of showers and storms goes to 30 percent. The low will be around 66 again.
Tuesday and Wednesday each have a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Tuesday’s high, with partly sunny skies, will be near 82. Tuesday night’s low will be around 67.
Wednesday, we’re back in the mid-80s, with a continued chance of rain and mostly sunny skies. The low Wednesday will be near 65.
No mention of rain on Thursday, when it will be mostly sunny and around 83 degrees.
