Adams ties for fourth place

Salisbury’s Frank Adams III tied for fourth in the eGolf Tour’s Spring Creek Classic held in Gordonsville, Va.
Adams shot 66-72-68 — 206 and finished 10-under. He won $4,806.50.
Salisbury’s Will Collins shot 73-70-71 — 214 and finished 2-under. Collins tied for 20th and won $1,550.
• Catawba’s Zach Griffis lost 3&2 in the Round of 32 in the North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship at River Landing in Wallace.
Four Augusta pitchers combined to shut out the Kannapolis Intimidators 5-0 on Friday at CMC-NorthEast Stadium.
Kannapolis (51-57) was held to five hits.
The Intimidators continue the series against the GreenJackets tonight at 7:05 p.m. with post-game fireworks. Gates open at 6 p.m.
• Corey Seager (NW Cabarrus) drove in two runs on Friday as Chattanooga beat Birmingham 7-3 in a Double-A Southern League game that also included Birmingham’s Daniel Wagner (South Rowan).
• Justin Seager (NW Cabarrus) had two hits and scored two runs Thursday and had two more hits on Friday to bump his batting average to .241 for Clinton in the Class-A Midwest League.
• Whit Merrifield (Davie) had three hits Wednesday and drove in two runs Thursday for Triple-A Omaha. Merrifield has accumulated 71 hits in 47 Triple-A games.
• Paul Kronenfeld (Catawba) drove in three runs on Thursday in the Arizona League. Kronenfeld has 10 RBIs in his last 10 games.
T.J. Wharton (Catawba) hit a home run in the Cape Cod League on Wednesday. Wharton is batting .333 (8-for-24) for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
• Brian Bauk (Salisbury, App. State) is batting .231 for the Brockton Rox of the Futures League. Bauk is 6-for-6 on stolen bases.
• Eric Tyler (South Rowan, ECU) is batting .272 with eight doubles and 10 RBIs for the Lake Norman Copperheads in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
Tyler played in the league all-star game.
• Avery Rogers (East Rowan, Guilford) has had a phenomenal summer for the Kernersville Bulldogs of the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League. Rogers’ ERA is 0.95 and he’s struck out 40 while walking six. Opposing hitters are batting .141 against him.
Ashton Fleming (East, Surry CC), who is headed to Catawba, is batting .303 for the Bulldogs.
Former West Rowan, Virginia and Appalachian State standout Donte Minter’s basketball camp has been rescheduled for Aug. 11-14 at Hall Gym. Camp is for grades 2-11 and is from 9 until 1 daily. Camp price is $65.
