State tournament scores for Rowan County Little League softball:
The 10U team is playing in Franklin and won 22-2 against Cape Fear and 12-0 against Franklin.
The 10s are playing today against Dare County at 2 p.m.
• The Rowan County Little League 8U team is playing in Brevard.
They rallied to beat Canon 7-4 and won 10-0 against Rutherfordton.
They will play Rutherfordton again today at 10 a.m.
The Run It Down Alumni Basketball Tournament is planned for the North Rowan gym on July 25-27.
Teams will represent North Rowan, Salisbury, South Rowan, Carson, West Rowan, A.L. Brown, Davie and Lexington.
Admission will be $5. Kids under 7 will be admitted free.

In the eGolf Tour’s 10th annual Southern Open, Seamus Power of Waterford, Ireland, claimed his fourth career victory at The Club at Irish Creek with four birdies over his last seven holes.
Power shot a final-round 65, finished 21-under and won the $13,500 first-place prize.
Frank Adams III tied for 31st. He shot 67-70-70-69 — 276 to finish 8-under. He won $1,300.
Ashton Fleming (East Rowan, Surry CC) had two hits, two steals and four RBIs as the Kernersville Bulldogs won 11-3 against the Mooresville Spinners in the Carolina-Virgina Collegiate League on Friday. T.J. Wharton (Catawba) had a double and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
The Kannapolis Intimidators were tied 5-5 in the 14th inning with Asheville late Saturday night at press time.
• Corey Seager (NW Cabarrus) had a double and two RBIs on Friday and hit his 18th homer on Thursday. Seager is batting .352 with 68 RBIs.
East Spencer is holding a free basketball clinic at Royal Giants Park Wednesday and Thursday, including free breakfast and lunch.
The clinic will be conducted by North Rowan coach Andrew Mitchell and staff. The camp includes fundamental skills, such as footwork, passing, ballhandling and shooting as well as competitive games. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.
The Salisbury Parks and Recreation is still accepting teams for its coed adult softball league.

The Rowan County Youth Football League announced registration for this season.
The RCYFL has tentatively set registration to begin Saturday, Aug. 30 and will run through Saturday, Sept. 6.
All elementary and 6th grade students (football and cheer)in the (3rd-4th) and (5th-6th) age levels are encouraged to attend.
Registration includes complete uniforms for both football and cheerleading.
Online registration will begin this month.
The RCYFL is a member of the American Youth Football Organization (AYF). The league is a registered non-profit and is looking for team sponsorships.

American Legion
The Post 87 Hi-Toms rolled 11-3 against the Mooresville Moors in the opening game of a best-of-five Area III semifinal series on Saturday at Thomasville’s Finch Field.
Ryan Kahny and Avery Hodges had two-run singles.
High Point scored six runs in the first inning. Bryce Lance made a solid start and Zach Saylor pitched four innings in relief.
