Morgan Warren, a student at Jesse Carson High School, recently served as a Page for the N.C. House of Representatives. She is the daughter of N.C. Rep. Harry and Catherine Warren of Salisbury and was sponsored by Rep. Warren.
Travis Barefoot of Rockwell received his doctor of physical therapy degree from the School of Medicine of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 169th commencement ceremony on May 12.
Three Rowan-Cabarrus and South Rowan High School students were awarded Skill Point Certificates at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills conference, where students demonstrated excellence in 99 hands-on occupational and leadership contests, such as robotics, criminal justice, aviation maintenance and public speaking.
All contests are designed, run and judged using industry standards.

Blake Hodge, of Kannapolis, a student at South Rowan High School, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in masonry.
Brandon Martin, of Kannapolis, a student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration.
Steven Hepler, of Salisbury, a student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in major appliance and refrigeration technology.
Robert Brown, of Kannapolis, a student at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, was awarded the college/post-secondary gold medal in sheet metal.

Alexandria E. Kirkwood, of Salisbury, made the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. Kirkwood is a 2011 graduate of Montclair High School and is a State University of New York Canton veterinary technology major.
To receive dean’s list honors, full-time students must earn at least a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Marshall Graham, of Salisbury, received a bachelor of arts in history degree during the May 2014 Southern Methodist University commencement ceremony.
April Snyder, of Cleveland, joined members of the upcoming freshman class as Bob Jones University hosted its first session of summer orientation June 20-21.
Snyder will be majoring in nursing when classes begin Sept. 3.
Haley Christine Shore of South Rowan High School was recently presented the school’s highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Co.
Shore, the daughter of Mark Shore and Julie Talbert, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience.
David Overcash and Laura Allen are Shore’s agricultural education instructors at South Rowan.
Ana Carla Betancourt, a student at East Rowan High School, will be attending the National Youth Leadership Forum: Careers in Law & CSI this month in Washington, D.C.
The forum is a student mentorship program in association with George Mason University.
