Yatawara qualified for the US Junior girls golf championship Monday three days after winning the Carolina Golf Association’s N.C. Junior Championship at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro. Yatawara shot a 2-over 74 at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, S.C. to qualify Monday.

The championship is at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Az. July 21-26.

Yatawara, a rising junior at Salisbury, helped the Hornets win state 2A/1A championships in 2012 and 2013.
