Letters to the editor — Friday (6-20-14)

God created man and woman for procreation
When turning my calendar to June, I noticed that I had written “Pride Day Event” on Saturday, the 21st.
The story of fhe fall in Sodom and Gomorrah is told in Genesis 18 to 19: “God decided to destroy them because of the grievous sins of their inhabitants.”
In spite of Abraham’s pleas not to punish the just with the wicked, the judgment was executed, as not even 10 just men could be found there. The visit of two angels occurred on the day of the destruction. Lot and his wife were lead out of the city, just before God rained fire and brimstone down upon it until the city went up as the smoke of a furnace.
As soon as they were outside, they were told to flee for their lives and not to look back. Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt.
To make a long story short, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their serious sins. God has naturally structured human sexuality to make man and woman complementary partners. Homosexual acts are contrary to the natural law of God. To believe man was made for man or woman was made for woman is an offense against God.
God created man and woman for procreation. Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law and also closed to the gift of life.
In addition to procreation, God also created man and woman to know him, love him and worship him.

Needing help
Will the lady involved in the accident at Elm Street and Lincolnton Road on Sunday around noon please come forward? I was driving south on Lincolnton Road and she was coming down Elm Street. She stopped, but then pulled into the intersection. I had to slam on my brakes and veer to the right. No damage was done to her car. Unfortunately, my car and the telephone pole were not so lucky. Maybe she thought nothing happened since she did not stop. There was a witness. No major damage or injury resulted from the impact, but I am an elderly widow and need all the help I can get.
