High school and college graduates were recognized June 8 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Six high school graduates were awarded Grace Lutheran Scholarships valued at $1,000 each. Students must be a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a first-year college student, participate in the worship, fellowship and programs of the congregation and have tuition expense.
This scholarship grows through member donations and fundraisers.
The applicants’ servant profile included: worship service assistant, hand bell choir, instrumental accompanist, youth choir, participation in youth group (LYNC), youth retreat planning, participants on mission trips and the 2012 National Youth Convention; and organizing and conducting fundraisers. Many young people serve on church committees.
