West Rowan graduate Justin Allison, in the No. 88 HaVaCoSales.com Ford, turned in the fastest lap Wednesday at Pocono in the ARCA Racing Series open test. The third-generation Allison circled the 2.5-mile triangular superspeedway in 53.436 seconds, an average speed of 168.426 mph.
Allison put in 31 laps in the afternoon session.
Rowan County returns to action tonight at home against Kernersville at 7 p.m.
The teams have split two meetings.
• Southern Rowan is home tonight against Davidson County.
• Mooresville Post 537 lost 12-6 to Stanly on Wednesday.
Jack Kolls started on the mound for the Legends and took the loss.
Jack Carty hit a two-run homer for Post 537, while Dallas Jackson had three hits.
Catawba’s Olivia Myers earned second team Capital One Academic All-America honors. The tennis player, posted a 3.98 GPA in biology.

The 12th annual Rowan Masters is set for Warrior on June 27-29.
Qualifying is June 21.
The qualifying round is 18 holes of stroke play. The low 31 scorers will join defending champion Phil Miller in a match-play tournament.
All entrants must have amateur status. The cost is $60 for non-members and $30 for members. Entry fee includes green fee, cart and range balls for the qualifying round. The champion receives a trophy, a one-year bronze membership and a $250 gift certificate.
• The Men’s Senior Interclub team at the Country Club of Salisbury lost a home match against Colonial Country Club 20-16. The team consisted of Craig Rae-Victor Wallace, Mark Habeeb-Gary Applewhite, Jack Seybold-Bruce Rogers, Bob Mangum-Bob Chinn, Bill Troxler-Ken Reid, and Jim Benton-Harold Buchanan.
The Kannapolis Intimdators were rained out Wednesday. Kannapolis starts a series at Asheville tonight.

South Rowan baseball camp is June 16-19 from 9-1 daily. The camp is for rising first-eighth-graders. The cost is $80. Call coach Thad Chrismon at 704-640-8704 to pre-register.

Falcon football camp
West Rowan Falcon football camp will be directed by Scott Young on June 16-18 from 9 until noon daily.
The cost is $45.
Current and former Falcons will instruct.
