We can expect isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon under partly sunny skies with a high near 85, but isolated is the key — the chance of rain is just 20 percent. The same holds true tonight, a chance of showers and storms, mainly before midnight, with a low around 63. There’s always the chance storms could include damaging winds, cloud-to-ground lightning and even hail.
Today is a code yellow, or moderate air quality day, with the primary problem being ozone.
Sunny and hot are the keywords for Wednesday, with a high near 90 and little breeze. Wednesday night brings another 20 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms in the wee hours. Expect a low around 69.
The highest chance of rain will be Thursday, at 50 percent, under partly sunny skies and a high near 88. West southwest winds will blow around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21. The National Weather Service indicates some of the storms on Thursday could become severe, so keep checking the weather and the skies. Thursday night, the chance of rain drops to 30 percent, with a low around 62.
Friday it will be mostly sunny and 85, with a low around 62. Saturday is very similar, but a bit warmer, near 86, with a low around 65.
Sunday, that chance of rain rolls in again, with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and a high near 86 under partly sunny skies. The chance continues Sunday night, with a low around 67.
Add 10 percent for a 40 percent chance of showers and storms on Monday, and it will be hot again, with partly sunny skies and a high near 88.
