Going to Pops at the Post? You can start swingin’ before the orchestra gets poppin’.
The Salisbury Swing Band will play again this year.
The band will set up in the former First Bank parking lot just off Innes Street and will entertain from 5 p.m. until just before the main event begins at the Salisbury Post loading docks.
The Salisbury Swing Band is a 19-20 member nonprofit dance band made up of five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass, drums and currently one to two vocalists, its website says.
They play Big Band music from the 1940s and 1950s as well as popular dance styles of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, along with familiar beach music selections.
