You know the drill — 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, unstable atmosphere, possible flash flooding, lightning, wind, hail. Counties to our south did have flooding problems last night, as storms stayed over the same areas for long periods.
You might see patchy fog out there until around 10 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 80 and little wind. Tonight, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, and a low around 61.
We’re still looking at partly to mostly sunny skies this weekend, which should please the crowd gathering for Streamliners in Spencer at the N.C. Transportation Museum. If trains aren’t your thing, you can visit the Price of Freedom Museum to remember D-Day events in China Grove.
Saturday will be partly sunny and near 80, with a breeze from the northeast. Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 57.
Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Sunday, with another 80-degree high and a low around 56.
We’ll see temperature climb into the 90s next week, with more humidity and frequent chances of afternoon thunderstorms and showers.
Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 84 and a low around 63. Then we climb to 89 under mostly sunny skies Tuesday. Tuesday’s low will be around 67.
With a high near 91 on Wednesday, we’ll also see a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance drops to 30 percent Wednesday night, with a low around 67.
Thursday, we’ll still see hot temperatures, with a high of 90 and a 30 percent chance of showers and storms.
