The National Weather Service is saying we have 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today due to a cold front moving slowly through the region.
Expect isolated to scattered storms, mainly this afternoon and evening, with the possibility of damaging wind gusts and hail the size of quarters, along with the usual lightning and heavy downpours.
The good news is the greatest likelihood of storms will stay to our south, around the Charlotte area.
It will be mostly sunny today with a high near 84, then partly cloudy tonight with a low around 52.
Saturday should be calmer, sunny, with a high of 79 and a low near 54.
Sunday should be much the same, with a high near 82 and a low around 60.
And to finish out the three-day weekend some people will enjoy, Memorial Day, Monday, should be sunny and 84, with a low around 63.
Even Tuesday looks good, though hot, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 88.
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will accompany partly sunny skies Wednesday and a high of 86, the same chance continues into Wednesday night, with a low around 61.
Thursday should be partly sunny with a high near 83.
