A Gold Hill woman with three pending driving while impaired cases was charged with DWI Tuesday night by China Grove authorities. She was convicted of the same traffic offense in November 2011.
China Grove Police charged Abbie Marie Crain, 35, of the 2600 block of Morgan Road, with misdemeanor driving while impaired. An officer stopped Crain around 5:30 p.m. on North Main Street in China Grove. According to an arrest report, Crain had 45 hydrocodone pills, 45 clonazepam pills, and 37 carisoprodol pills, which is a muscle relaxer.
She was issued a $100,000 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
Crain was found guilty in 2011 of driving while impaired stemming from an October 2010 incident, court records said. She was charged in August 2012 with driving while impaired and driving while license revoked, both offenses have yet to be resolved. She is expected in court in July regarding those charges.
In April 2013 and in June 2013, Crain was charged with driving while impaired, both of which are pending a June court date. She was charged in March with driving while impaired and is slated to appear in court in early June.
Two simple drug possession charges in July 2010 and June 2013, were both dismissed by the district attorney’s office.
