Tough draw for Indians in regional

Catawba’s baseballl team enters the six-team Southeast Region Baseball Tournament as the No. 6 seed. The SAC champs will face host Lander in their opening game in Greenwood, S.C.
The NCAA II baseball field was announced Sunday night.
Lander is ranked No. 2 nationally and is the Peach Belt Conference champ.
Catawba (33-18) missed out on regional play last year after advancing to the D-II World Series in Cary in 2012. Lander brings a 47-6 record into the regional. More information on game times will be available later today. The tournament will begin on Thursday and runs through Sunday.
Other first round matchups include second-seeded Mount Olive (40-11) against fifth-seeded Georgia College (34-15). Mount Olive is the Conference Carolinas Champion, while Georgia College earned an at-large berth from the Peach Belt. Also coming out of the PBC is third-seeded Columbus State (36-15), which will take onNo. 4 seed USC Aiken (36-15).
