School district holding job fair Saturday

For the first time in about 10 years, the Rowan-Salisbury School System will hold a career fair Saturday to recruit highly qualified staff for all positions, according to Kristi Rhone, the district’s director of human resources.
The job fair is open to “anyone interested in working with students,” Rhone said.
The school system will be filling a wide variety of vacancies, including teachers, substitutes, food service workers, custodians, maintenance and clerical positions.
“We are interested in filling every position,” Rhone said, adding that a “decrease in math and science teachers and in subs and bus drivers” means they will especially be looking to fill those positions.
Licensed teachers and May 2014 college or university graduates are encouraged to attend, as well.
Interviews will be conducted on site, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet district administrators, principals and teachers. Applicants will be able to learn more about the school system’s programs and professional development.
The career fair will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Jesse Carson High School, 290 Kress Venture Drive, China Grove.
