PPT to hold auditions for ‘High School Musical’

Piedmont Players Theatre will hold youth auditions for “Disney’s High School Musical” May 19-20 at the Meroney Theater.
Auditions are by appointment only, and will begin at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. each day, with 25 slots available per time.
To schedule an audition time, call 704-633-5471. Those who scheduled a time will be mailed a form to bring to the audition.
Performance dates will be July 10-19 at the Meroney. Based on a Disney Channel original movie, Piedmont Players describes the show this way:
“Disney Channel’s smash hit movie musical comes to life on the Meroney stage! Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends, and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. Disney’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is fun for the whole family.”
Available roles include the jocks, Troy Bolton, Chad Danforth, Zeke Baylor and Jason; the thespians, Sharpay Evans, Ryan Evans, James, Susan, Cathy, Alan and Cyndra; the brainiacs, Gabriella Montez, Taylor McKessie, Martha Cox and Kratfoss; the skater dudes, Ripper and Mongo; other students, Jack Scott, Kelsi Nielson, the party kids, fans and spectators, and the ensemble; and the adults, Coach Bolton and Ms. Darbus.
Producing Partners are F&M Bank and Salisbury Community Foundation.
The Meroney Theater is at 213 S. Main Street.
