KANNAPOLIS – The Kannapolis Farmers Market will officially open Thursday, and will be held every Thursday through October.
People may go to the corner of Vance Street and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard on Thursdays between 4 and 7 p.m. to support local growers and vendors. The city will give a free, reusable tote bag to the first 25 Kannapolis residents to bring a copy of the May issue of Kannapolis Matters with them to the Farmers Market. Kannapolis Matters is mailed to all residents with their monthly water bills.
In addition to fresh produce and homemade items, there will also be special events and guest appearances at the market throughout the season. On May 29, a representative from the Cabarrus County Master Gardeners will be on site to provide information about the program, as well as to answer questions on plants and gardening.
Details on special events can be found at cityofkannapolis.com/farmersmarket. Residents are encouraged to check the page periodically for upcoming event details.
