There is an increased fire danger all day Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The combination of gusty win and low humidity will increase the threat of rapidly spreading wildfires Wednesday.

Individuals may obtain burning permits in one of several ways in Rowan County: If you are within a municipality, please check with your local city/town office for local permitting as may be required for your town or city. If you are outside a municipality, you may obtain a burning permit online at http://ncforestservice.gov/burn_permits/burn_permits_main.htm or at one of the authorized permit agent locations listed here: https://www.rowancountync.gov/GOVERNMENT/Departments/EmergencyServices/FireDivision/Forestry/BurningPermit.aspx
