CHINA GROVE — The Kangaroo Express at 513 N. Main St. in China Grove is now open 24 hours, seven days a week.

The Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee will host the Rowan Grown Farm Tour on May 22.
The educational bus tour of western and southern Rowan County farms will offer the chance to network with farmers, agriculture students and business leaders to learn more about the economic impact of farming in Rowan.
Tickets are $22 for chamber members and $32 for nonmembers. The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lunch provided by Emma’s.

ROCKWELL — SupplyOne Rockwell (formerly Packaging Services of Carolina) has announced an expansion of nearly 10,000 square feet in the receiving area.
This is the sixth expansion of the packaging company since its inception in 1988.
“We have enjoyed unprecedented growth over the last several years” says Kevin O’Brien, SupplyOne president. “This expansion will greatly help us to handle our incoming material and provide much needed room for our work in process and an additional converting machine that we just relocated.”
SupplyOne Rockwell is primarily a corrugated packaging converter but is also heavily into other packaging materials and food packaging supplies and equipment. The company serves the Carolinas and Georgia.

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Belk on Klumac Road will host a Lancome Parisian Chic Event on April 23.
The store will host national makeup artist and HSN star Ricardo Costales and his team, who will give skin-care consultations, make-up lessons, a French facial application and how-to advice.

In return for purchasing a $5 ticket, customers get discounted merchandise and other items throughout the store. Plus, customers receive a $5 credit on Charity Sale purchases completely offsetting the cost of the ticket. Charities get to keep 100 percent of the proceeds from each $5 ticket sold.
The first 100 customers in each store on the morning of Charity Sale will receive free Belk gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $100, and a chance to win one of three $1,000 Belk gift cards awarded company-wide.
Spring Charity Sale tickets are now being sold by participating nonprofit organizations, and beginning Friday, April 25, tickets may also be purchased at Belk stores.
All revenues from in-store ticket purchases are equally divided among participating charities and schools in the area.
The Fall 2013 Belk Charity Sale raised more than $5 million for nearly 8,000 schools and community nonprofits.

CHARLOTTE — The Western Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a Regional Caregiver Education Conference on May 6 at the First Baptist Church of Mooresville from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This educational opportunity is aimed for family caregivers, health care professionals and anyone interested in receiving the latest information about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
The conference will also identify community resources to help meet the needs of caregivers and care recipients.

Carolina Bank’s Gunnar N.R. Fromen, who has served 43 years in the financial services industry, is retiring.
He returned to his banking roots when he joined Carolina Bank 16 years ago, serving as an executive vice president and senior loan officer.
