The sun’s up and it’s a warm start to your Friday. Still, the National Weather Service is alerting people to the possibility of a line of strong to severe thunderstorms approaching from the west.
It’s possible the storms will lose their punch after crossing the mountains, but storms could redevelop this afternoon and evening. It all depends on how unstable the atmosphere becomes this afternoon.
We should warm up to 81 degrees today with winds from the southwest at up to 26 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is only 20 percent. Overnight, the low will dip to 51, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
But Saturday looks like a nearly perfect spring day, with sunny skies and a high near 70. The wind will shift to the north-northwest with gusts up to 18 mph.
There’s a slight chance of showers Sunday, otherwise, it will be partly sunny and cooler with a high near 63. Rain is likely Sunday night with a low around 49. Chance of rain is 70 percent.
If rainy days and Mondays get you down, prepare yourself. Monday’s chance of rain in 90 percent. Showers could be heavy at times. The high will be near 66. Rain is likely Monday night, too, with a 60 percent chance and a low of 49.
Tuesday, the chance of rain drops to 30 percent, with partly sunny skies and a high near 65. Tuesday night will be chilly, with a low of 41.
Wednesday should be mostly sunny with a high near 63 and a low of 38, and Thursday should be sunny with a high near 66.
