Kannapolis woman wins $200K in lottery

KANNAPOLIS — Shital Shah of Kannapolis has won $200,000 playing the N.C. Education Lottery’s 20X The Cash game, a news release said.
Shah bought her $5 ticket at the C & E Food Mart on Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.
After state and federal taxes were withheld, Shah received a check for $138,401, the news release said.
The lottery has raised more than $3.19 billion for education programs statewide through ticket sales, according to the news release. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk 4-year-olds, teacher salaries in grades K-3, school construction and need-based college scholarships and financial aid and digital learning.
