Charlotte educator named state’s top teacher
A Charlotte educator has been named the state’s top teacher.
James Ford, a world history teacher at Garinger High School in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System, was named the 2014 Burroughs Wellcome Fund North Carolina Teacher of the Year today at a luncheon held in Cary.
Alex Reynolds, drama teacher at Jesse Carson High School in the Rowan-Salisbury School System, was the Northwest Region teacher of the year and one of nine finalists for the state title.
Ford succeeds Karyn Dickerson, an English teacher at Grimsley High School in Guilford County Schools.
