Police: Three people shot, seriously injured on Grim Street

Salisbury Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Grim Street where they say three people were shot. Investigators have not released the names of those involved.
Police received a call at 1 a.m. after shots were fired among several individuals near Grim Street and Alexander Lane. Police located a man lying on the back porch of a residence in the 500 block of Alexander Lane. Investigators did not detail his injuries, but did say in a press release, the man sustained a gunshot wound.
The man was shot, ran toward Alexander Lane and collapsed on the back porch of the residence. He was taken by ambulance to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center. Police believe the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Grim Street between several people. Hospital officials contacted police after two more victims with gunshot wounds were taken to the hospital, brought in by private vehicle. Two people were flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, police spokewsoman Capt. Shelia Lingle said. They are undergoing surgery at this time. The investigation continues.
