Fundraiser, prayer breakfast today

Food fund raiser at Lane Street Baptist — Lane Street Baptist Church, 2532 Lane St., Kannapolis, is hosting its pancake breakfast, barbecue plate lunch and hot dog fund raiser today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
T.O.P. monthly prayer breakfast — At 8 a.m. today the men of Tower of Power United Holy Church will have their monthly prayer breakfast. Speaker will be Rev. Hall’s Temple Church will host their annual Twelve Tribes Rally on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Bishop T. Washington of New Freedom church of Kannapolis will be the presenter of The Tribes. Other local churches are invited.

On this third Sunday in Lent First Presbyterian Church, Salisbury will have three worship services: 8:30 and 11 a.m. sanctuary worship and 8:50 a.m. Life Center Worship (contemporary service).
This week our Bell Tower Ringers, under the direction of Director of Music Ministries John Stafford, will lead the worship during both sanctuary services. The LCW Praise Team will lead the Life Center worship.
CHINA GROVE — During 10 a.m. Sunday school Mount Zion UCC children and youth will continue their walk with Jesus in the city of Jerusalem, this week to the Garden of Gethsemane. At 9:30 a.m. breakfast will be served.
During the 11 a.m. service the third candle of Lent, the Candle of Caring, will be lighted.

GOLD HILL — Matthew Weaver will present a service of music at 11 a.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church, 3885 Liberty Road, Gold Hill, on Sunday.
Weaver is a local singer, songwriter and musician of numerous instruments, the recipient of many awards, and has played on The Grand Ole Opry.
He is also involved with Red Bird Mission, a rural mission program of the United Methodist Church in the rural Appalachian Mountains.
The Fannye Ford Willing Workers Missionary of New Zion Baptist Church, 2785 Dunn’s Mountain Road, will celebrate their annual Missionary Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Minister Alice H. Perry, pastor of Salisbury’s Vineyard Worship Center.
All ladies are asked to wear white if possible. The host pastor is Rev. V. Patrick Jones Sr.
The Male Choir of Statesville will present its annual spring concert at Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. There is no admission cost. Rev. Perry Dye is the host pastor.
EAST SPENCER — A.T.C. Ministries, Inc. and Faith Temple Triumphant Ministries pastors Dee Ellison and Henry Diggs and congregations present “Honoring our Past and Looking to the Future — A Celebration of Black History” on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and to participate in the ministries of music, poetry, spoken word, drama and liturgical dance. Refreshments will be served.

SPENCER — Rhema Praise and Worship Church will have their annual Women’s Day Program on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The speaker is Minister Mavis Brooks of Grace Christian Center, Charlotte. The church is located at 117 Long Ferry Road.
The gospel group The Gobers are coming to Community Baptist Church on Sunday at 6 p.m. The Gobers are on southern gospel radio nationwide and currently have five albums with Chapel Valley/Mercy Road Records.

The Rev. Jan Brittain is the guest speaker. She is an Elder in Full Connection, currently serving Williamson’s Chapel Church in Morresville. Rev. Brittan has served the United Methodist Church as clergy since 1989 at churches in Candler, Ashville, Statesville, and Greensboro. She holds an undergraduate degree from Pfeiffer and received her Masters of Divinity from Emory University in Georgia. There will be special music nightly:
