Three new members will be honored by the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association as the 20th class inducted by the AD Hall of Fame.
Rowan County’s Ralph Shatterly, David Rothwell and David Vaughn are the newest members of the NCADA Hall of Fame. The three will be recognized at the annual North Carolina Athletic Directors Association state conference in Asheville later this month.
Livingstone senior guard Mark Thomas was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches all-district team.
Thomas has been honored as CIAA Tournament MVP and CIAA Player of the Year.
College golf
Catawba’s men’s golf team finished the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate tournament in seventh place with a score of 629. Queens won with a score of 603.
Tyler Rutherford shot the low score in both rounds for the Indians to finish sixth at 149. Catawba’s Matt Hardman shot 157 in the two-day event.
South Rowan’s girls won 5-1 against North Rowan on Wednesday.
Keirsten Morgan scored two goals for the Raiders.
Katie Figueroa, Brittany Sprinkles and Kimberly Mancera scored a goal each.
Leslie Franks had an assist.
Brooke Helms, Kailee Kicinski, Maddie Amico, Madilyn Jones and Wendy Fabella led South’s defense.
The Raiders play Central Cabarrus in the SPC on Friday.

Hayden Taylor pitched a five-inning no-hitter as A.L. Brown beat Vance 10-0 on Wednesday.
Kameron Sherrill went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for the Wonders.
The Wonders will play at Vance Friday, and they’ll host Carson on Saturday.
