Dr. Lynn G. Marsh, principal of W.R. Odell Elementary School in the Cabarrus County School System, was recently named a Goodnight Educational Foundation Scholarship recipient. She was selected to attend the 2014 Emerging Issues Forum entitled “Teachers: The great economic debate” held in Raleigh Feb. 10-11. The forum was sponsored by N.C. State University.
The Emerging Issues Forum allowed educators from across the state to determine specific action steps for hiring and maintaining highly effective teachers in North Carolina. Marsh, along with a group of fellow educators, presented about teacher compensation.
Gov. Jim Hunt was a primary speaker and host at the forum and vocalized in his support of the teaching profession in North Carolina.
