Firefighters called to blaze on 801; one person rescued
WOODLEAF — Firefighters battled an early morning blaze at 780 N.C. 801 Thursday.
The Rowan County Fire Marshal’s office was called to the scene just after 1 a.m.
The first calls came in around 12:42 a.m. and when crews arrived, they reported the structure was burning heavily.
One person was reported rescued from the fire, and was later being checked for smoke inhalation problems. A verbal all clear was later given that no one else was trapped inside.
The fire was declared under control just before 1:30 a.m.
Energy United crews were called to secure electricity at the site.
