Innes Street has been sprayed with brine this morning and the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today and tonight. It looks like much of the precipitation will stay in the mountains and foothills.
There is a slight chance of a brief wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain tonight and into the early morning hours of Saturday, with a light glaze of ice possible in some areas that get freezing drizzle.
The chance for any precipitation has dropped to 30 percent tonight and 40 percent Saturday.
But it will feel like winter today, with a high of just 45 despite a sunny sky. Winds will continue, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Saturday’s chance of icky mess tapers off by noon. It will be cloudy, but clear gradually with a high near 52. The low is expected to be around 34.
Sunday, spring returns with a mostly sunny sky and a high near 67. Expect windy conditions, too, with 20 mph gusts. There’s a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. Monday, but the low will be just 47.
Monday, showers are likely, starting around lunchtime, with a high near 65. Chance of rain is 70 percent. The rain continues Monday night, with a low around 31.
The rest of next week brings a mixed bag — Tuesday should be partly sunny with a high near 47 and a low around 25; Wednesday’s high should be around 48, but a slight chance of snow returns Wednesday night and into Thursday.
