KANNAPOLIS — City officials will host an open house Thursday to get public feedback on parks and recreation needs.
The Parks and Recreation Department is working on a master plan to determine needs, goals and strategies for the community over the next 10 years.
The open house will be held 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Kannapolis Train Station. Residents are encouraged to drop in during that time. 
Park facilities, athletic fields, recreational programs and greenways are a few of the Parks and Recreation Department’s responsibilities. Participation in Thursday’s meeting will help determine future projects and programs. A joint meeting between the city and Cabarrus County will be held Feb. 27 at Boger Elementary School between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
